A few months ago I gave you guys a little peek at a dress I found from the Salvation Army and judging from the comments, you love her! She’s a bright emerald hue, has a paisley pattern and is 100 percent silk. Oh yeah, and she’s vintage and only cost $5! Here’s a closer look at her and how I snagged such an amazing find. I’m a frequent shopper at the Salvation Army on 46th St {between 10th and 11th avenues} since the store is so well organized....

During my first Adventures in Thrifting last weekend, we dipped in to Forever 21 after we hit up three thrift stores. Since I’m on my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge and can’t shop for clothing, I immediately went to the beauty section. I was immediately struck by a bottle of sparkly purple polish. This weekend was the inaugural Adventures in Thrifting and we had a blast. I met up with four readers for a day of thrift shopping. We hit up the “Big Three” on East 23rd Street: Goodwill, Housing Works and Salvation Army. Here’s a peek at what I found. We started at Goodwill where everything with a green tag was 50 percent off. Ah, Target. I went there to pick up contact lens solution but I had to make a quick dip in to the clothing and accessories sections…and I’m so glad I did. I found a a lot of crave-worthy sale and clearance items. A ton of the Go International pieces were on clearance.
