Last week I showed you guys my thrifted finds for the month of January and I mentioned that I had to barter in order to snag two pieces. Well, learning the art of bartering is a great thrift shopping tip. While shopping at the Salvation Army, I found a feathered vintage robe that immediately caught my eye. It was only $13 and had such a glam feel to it. I loved it but wasn’t really sure if I’d actually wear it, but I threw it in my cart anyway....

Two weeks ago I filmed my third appearance for The Nate Berkus Show and I can now announce the show airs on Tuesday, December 20. Like my past segments, I’m focusing on thrift shopping. This time around I gave holiday makeovers to two women using completely thrifted looks. And as usual I had a great time. A few weeks ago I showed you guys the awesome pieces I found at the Housing Works Buy the Bag sale. I fit 30 items of clothing in a bag for just $25, so that was less than $1 per piece of clothing. And last week I showed you how I put together a Thrifty Threads outfit with pieces from the sale. I know this is super last minute but I’ll be having an Adventures in Thrifting meetup tomorrow {10/22}. I didn’t think I’d be able to make the final Buy the Bag sale from Housing Works, but it looks like I can. You guys know what Buy the Bag is, right? It’s the warehouse sale by Housing Works where you can get an entire bag of clothing for just $25. Yup, $25 for all the clothes you can stuff in a bag. I’m on the hunt for cute tops...

{I’m making a weird face, but everyone else looks amazing!} Earlier this month, Goodwill contacted me about participating in a fashion show for disabled workers. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. You guys know I love Goodwill {my favorite locations in NYC are the 23rd St. Gramercy store and the Goodwill Outlet}. But I also love that the secondhand chain employs individuals with disabilities. October is National Disability Awareness month so Goodwill teamed up with NYC’s Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities to put on a show....
