There’s been something interesting/weird happening at some thrift stores lately. They’re going a bit upscale. Most notably is Goodwill, which has opened about 60 boutiques nationwide. These locations have more curated designer pieces, are more organized and have a feel of a department store to attract the desired millennial crowd. I’m all about making thrifting easier and more accessible {so much so that I wrote a book on how to thrift shop!}, so I checked out the Goodwill boutique that recently opened in NYC’s Union Square. I wasn’t impressed.

This past weekend I did something I never thought I’d do: I donated a fourth of my wardrobe. I’m not exaggerating. From Friday night to Sunday night {with a break to watch The Walking Dead!}, I cleaned out every rack, drawer and bin. From hair to makeup to fashion, there more close to two dozen brands on hand and they all had amazing products that are sold at Family Dollar. Below are a few of my favorite moments from the event, as well as products I think you might love.

Sometimes you find a garment that just blows you away. Maybe it’s the actual garment and sometimes it’s your disbelief that a certain store carries such a cute piece. That’s what happened when I went thrift shopping two weeks ago. I found this cobalt blue full midi skirt and fell in love. It was the color. The cut. The knee length split. And I was amazed to discover it was from Old Navy. Yes, Old Navy! I’ve never shopped at Old Navy {besides their dollar flip flops}, but...
