Since most of my wardrobe is thrifted, there are times when I rock a head to toe thrift store look. And that’s exactly what happened this week. I wanted a nice pop of color so I chose my red, sweetheart neckline dress I recently bought from the Salvation Army. After picking out my accessories, I realized the entire ensemble was courtesy of thrift stores {minus an adorable straw purse my cousin gave me a few months ago}.

If you need to know one thing about me {besides my love of thrifting}, it’s that I hate the heat. Like, I seriously hate it unless there’s a nearby body of water for me to cool off in. And unfortunately for me, it’s been pretty hot in NYC and pretty much throughout the country. One morning the Weather Channel described the temps as “dangerous and oppressive.” Geez! On days when you’re practically sweating before you even step foot out of the door, what to wear can be a serious...

The restaurant’s known for its down home cooking. I wanted a ladylike frock that was church appropriate but also comfy for the near 90 degree temps, so rocked the little...

The weather in NYC has been so schizo lately. Though we experienced summer like temps in spring, off and on rainy days and nights were pretty common this week. So what’s a girl to do on a lazy Saturday when the weather won’t cooperate? She plays dress up of course. And that’s exactly what I did. You guys know how I learned to walk in heels? I would play dress up with my grandma’s heels. I’d flop around the house in her size 9’s. I couldn’t wait to...
