11 Feb Thrifty Threads: Styling Over the Knee Boots for a Night Out
Ok, I’m kinda obsessed with these suede over the knee boots. Maybe it’s because they were such a great purchase from TJ Maxx {I believe they were just under $40} or maybe it’s because over the knee boots are considered a “tricky trend” and I’m glad I feel I’ve mastered them. I don’t know. Whatever it is, I adore these boots and more importantly, I’m happy to show you easy ways to style them. Again, over the knee boots can feel super intimidating, but they don’t have to be!
And in this week’s Thrifty Threads, here’s another way to rock over the knee boots.
If you’ve been keeping tabs, this is my third time styling these boots over the past month. From a sexier vibe {seen here worn with my grandma’s sweater and fishnets} to a casual look {seen here with skinny jeans and an oversized sweater} and now, I guess this look is somewhere in between casual and dressy.
As stated, the boots are from a few years back via TJ Maxx, but the rest of my look is thrifted {sans the leggings}. My vintage dress is from Udelco vintage warehouse. Seriously, if you’re in the New York tri-state area and love vintage and a good deal, you NEED to visit this shop. The dress was less than $10 and so are most of their items. And I paired the printed frock with my favorite combo for the season: fur and leather. Again, thrifted! The faux fur collar and vintage bomber jacket {from my last thrift store haul} are both from the Salvation Army on 46th Street.
Thrift Tip: hit up your local thrift shop during sale days. That equals savings upon savings. Don’t know when the sales are? Just ask the sales associates, sign up for their newsletter or follow the shop on social media.
As for the leggings, they’re courtesy of No Nonsense. The color of the denim leggings mimic the over the knee boots. The deep red/burgundy hue creates a nice continuous line, which helps to elongate the leg. This is a great tip if you want your legs to look longer, especially useful for my fellow petite girls!
Again, it’s never about how many clothes and accessories you, it’s all about making the most of what’s currently in your closet. I think it’s safe to say I’m getting tons of use out of these boots!
These exact boots are no longer available at TJ Maxx, but their selection of winter boots is absolutely amazing and worth checking out!
Do you have a pair of boots you remix throughout the season?
