21 Feb L’Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator
I’ve been seeing commercials for L’Oreal’s Double Extend Eye Illuminator and I finally tested it out. The mascara is intended to brighten your eye color with its 2-step process.
The first side of the wand lengthens while the second side is infused with “light-reflecting pearls” to highlight your eyes. The mascara comes in four different shades depending on eye color {black copper for blue eyes, black bronze for green eyes, black quartz for brown eyes and black crystal for all eyes}. I had a hard time finding the black quartz, but after a visit to Ulta, I finally lucked out!
At just $9.99, I was looking forward to testing it out. I’m not a huge fan of makeup but my wispy lashes need some serious help.
I can’t say that I’m really loving it. Though it was clump free and smudge free, that’s where the KTTKT stops. I guess I was expecting something different {what, I don’t really know} but I just felt like my $10 was wasted.
Blah, not impressed! The volume was non-existent.
The first side of the wand, which claims to provide volume and length, didn’t really do either. I’ve had greater results with Maybelline Falsies and Black Radiance Dynamic Duo Mascara & Primer. The second wand applied an “illuminating topcoat” that really just looked like I had sparkly eyeshadow sprinkled on my mascara or like I had highlights on my lashes.
You can see some hints of the black quartz shade, which I don’t really think played up my brown eyes.
I definitely won’t be purchasing this again. Due to my thin lashes, volume and length is most important to me and this mascara failed on both ends. Next time I want to “illuminate” my eyes, I’ll just opt for a brown or bronze mascara.
Anyone try Double Extend Eye Illuminator? What was your experience like?

Posted at 18:57h, 21 FebruaryI tried the Illuminator a few weeks ago. I liked the sparkle it gave my lashes, but you’re right, it doesn’t give a lot of length or volume. I stick with Maybelline Falsies for that.

Posted at 01:53h, 22 Februaryhave you tried maybelline stiletto voluptuous mascara? i swear by it. Comes out perfect for me, and any clumps are easily fixed with another brush through. my lashes are kinda thick to begin with though, but it may help you out with having thin lashes.

Posted at 16:07h, 22 FebruaryI’ve been using Covergirl Lashblask fusion layered under Wet & wild megalength lately and I LOVE it!! I just recently started using the combo because I was out of town on business when I left my trusted Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara at home. I only bought the Wet & wild mega length because it was on sale for $1. Anyway, long story short, the combination is AMAZING for under $10.

Posted at 19:36h, 22 FebruaryI’m glad you purchased and reviewd because this is something I wanted to try. I’m not feeling the little flicks of brown/copper dandruff-looking things.
Stiletto is just okay IMO
