05 Nov Cubicle Chic: 3 Ways to Style Colored Tights Like an Adult
As the temperature continues to drop and our wardrobes are now in full fledge fall mode, tights are in heavy rotation. A safe go-to is simple black. They’re neutral and go with everything.
But for this week’s Cubicle Chic, I’m going to challenge you {as I do every week!} to step juuuust a bit out of your comfort zone, and switch out your black tights for a colored pair. While the image of bright tights might make you think of your childhood, with these style tips I promise you’ll look chic and mature.
Dress / Scarf / Tights / Bag / Heels
If keeping warm is at the top of your list, head over to Uniqlo and grab both this wool dress and heat tech tights. Add in a tri-colored shoe and a printed orange scarf {just $13!} that gives a pop of color but still compliments the overall look. Finish off with a textured brown Target satchel.
Shirt / Skirt / Tights / Bag / Earrings / Shoes
I personally love the look of tights and flats. They’re comfy yet chic and preppy. And colored tights just elevate the look. In this outfit, a pair of red Free People tights is the star. Keep everything else in a neutral color palette, but with fun details like this H&M bow blouse and a-line skirt. Finish the outfit with fun accessories like a funky printed purse, art deco-ish earrings {that are on sale for $25!} and cut out flats from Topshop.
Sweater / Skirt / Tights / Necklace / Bag / Booties
If you’re really bold and /or you want to seriously up your fall style game, mix a pair of deep purple tights from ModCloth with a bold yellow skirt. Edgier pieces like cut out Nine West booties and chain detail bag counteract the sweetness of the look. Finally finish up with a simple black sweater and a statement necklace.
Do you wear colored tights to work? Or do they seem a bit too childish to you?
