09 Jun How to Upgrade Your Spring Basics
A few weeks ago I filmed a style segment for NBC’s New York Live and it finally aired last week. It was all about how to spice up your spring essentials, particularly a little black dress, denim jacket and pencil skirt. Though summer is officially just a few weeks away, your spring threads are most likely still in heavy rotation.
Check out how to make these basics look anything but basic.
We filmed at Macy’s in Herald Square and all of the clothes and accessories {including mine!} came from the department store. A lot of the brands I used included Jessica Simpson, RACHEL Rachel Roy, Style & Co. and INC.
I was so excited to finally work with Lilliana Vazquez from The Cheap Chica’s Guide to Style, she’s also a host for New York Live. And no, I’m not tall, Lilliana’s just really petite!
As mentioned, my look was from Macy’s. I absolutely fell in love with this crocheted, scalloped hem skirt. Also, I knew about the Keyshia Cole for Steve Madden line but I didn’t realize how cute some of the styles were until I saw them up close. Naturally, I had to wear a pair for the shoot. I chose the Movit caged sandal. And of course I had to incorporate one of my thrift store finds, this time it was a necklace from Housing Works.
What did you think of the style segment? Are there any spring basics you need to upgrade for a fresh look?
