12 Nov Cubicle Chic: 3 Stylish Sweaters That Add Warmth, Not Bulk
Gone are the days of a lightweight coat and here are the days of layer upon layer {and maybe a third layer!}. While layering can be a fun way to mix up your outfits, you want to avoid adding bulk and looking like the Michelin Man. This week I’ll show you affordable sweaters that will keep you warm without adding bulk.
I’ll give you a little hint: it’s all about the choice of fabric. See the three fall and winter sweaters that are warm, sleek and stylish. Trust us, you won’t look all big and bulky under your coat.
Sweater / Pants / Earrings / Necklace / Bag / Shoes
This H&M sweater is the perfect example of layering with the right material. The wool and camel hair adds both warmth and comfort in a single layer. Perfect to wear in the office and under a trench coat for a chilly morning. Incorporate different textures, like these crystal earrings, faux fur bag from Aldo and suede Nine West pumps. If you want a modern, chic look, here it is!
Cardigan / Blouse / Pants / Earrings / Bag / Shoes
To achieve the layered look, hit up Uniqlo for these two pieces in sumptuous fabrics. The shell is silk and will allow you to breathe underneath the lambswool cardigan. Nothing is worse than layering to stay warm and sweating once you get inside, so this combo eradicates that issue! Because of the bold colors in the tops, keep the rest of the outfit neutral with black and white Michael Kors printed pants {they’re currently on sale!}, a studded Steve Madden bag, gold studs and classic black pumps from Asos.
Sweater / Dress / Necklace / Belt / Boots / Bag
And of course, the go-to crowd favorite is the cable-knit sweater. The design allows for extra warmth that doesn’t add mass to your frame. Try layering the sweater over a Topshop chambray shirt dress. Add a fun cheetah belt {less than $6!} to define your waist and tall boots to keep your legs warm. Finish off with a bold necklace and a Sole Society satchel.
How do you layer your sweaters? Are there certain materials or combinations you use when layering?
