23 Aug Fab, Fit and Frugal: Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Cocktail
For years I’ve heard about the health benefits of drinking apple cider vinegar. Though I use ACV when I mix it with my bentonite clay mask, I had never consumed the liquid. And that’s mainly because the smell is just so strong.
But I finally bit the bullet and started making an apple cider vinegar cocktail and drinking it has now become a part of my morning routine.
When taken internally, organic ACV is said to aide in digestion, balances pH and removes impurities from the body. You can use any brand, but I’m partial to Bragg apple cider vinegar, which you can get at any health food store and online for less than $5 for a 16 ounce bottle.
I know a few people who take ACV shots, but downing the acidic drink without a mixer is a little too harsh for me. Instead, I whip up a simple cocktail every morning.
My particular cocktail includes a warm or hot cup of water, two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a squeeze of lemon. Sometimes I’ll even add a hint of raw honey, which has anti-bacterial properties.
Earlier this year I religiously drank this cocktail {it takes some getting used to the taste} and after a month or so, I noticed clearer, brighter skin. So now I’m back at it in hopes it will continue to do my body and my skin some good. Feeling great and having awesome skin really starts from the inside out.
If you’re new to apple cider vinegar, start off slow with just 1 tablespoon and see how your stomach responds to the drink. Though I mix mine with water, you can also add it to your tea.
Apple cider vinegar has so many uses, including as a facial toner, hair rinse and even mouth wash.
Have you ever concocted your own apple cider vinegar? What do you mix it with?

Posted at 10:03h, 25 AugustI tried this, too. I didn’t stick with it for long because I was very concerned about the acid affecting my teeth. Which are already extremely sensitive.
I would like to start up, again. As the health benefit has been positive to all that I know who take it.
