03 Aug Event Recap: My Hosting Gig at Macy’s + What I Wore
Last week I had a blast hosting my first event at Macy’s Herald Square. I was introducing shoppers to Dormify, the college lifestyle brand that helps students dress up their living space with ease and on a budget. We had light bites, DIY stations, flash tattoos, a lipstick fortune teller {so awesome!} and me on the mic.
If you missed it, here’s a recap of the event, plus what I wore for my hosting duties.
Dormify normally sells their home decor online, but they just launched a partnership with Macy’s, so we had to celebrate. I lured shoppers in with the DIY “namastay in bed” face masks, chalkboard station and the intrigue of a lipstick fortune teller who told shoppers their fortune based on their choice of lipstick and lip print. I was busy hosting and didn’t have a chance to check the fortune teller out, but my intern, LeAnn, did and said it was fun!
You guys know I’m all about bang for your buck, and what I really love about the Dormify line {and what I shared with shoppers!} is their products are double duty. The comforters are reversible, the pillows have fun prints on both sides and the packaging even doubles as under bed storage and a makeup or toiletry bag.
As for what I wore, I kept it simple with a green, draped dress I thrifted for less than $10 and my metallic pumps from Machi Footwear {last seen here}. Since I was on my feet all night {or at least until I slipped into my flats once the event was over!}, I wanted a look that was flirty and fun, but made it easy for me to walk around the floor and interact with customers. And the bright emerald hue definitely made me stand out!
I loved my hosting duties and can’t wait to do it again…and again will be later this month. I’ll be MCing a kids fashion show at Macy’s in the Bronx on the 22nd!
Thanks so much to my readers who came out and be sure to check out Dormify online or at your local Macy’s. Though the brand is geared toward undergrads, they have cute, functional and organization items for everyone!
