02 Jul Cubicle Chic: Trendy, Corporate Office Attire
Even the mere thought of a conservative, corporate workplace can elicit nightmares of boring, ill-fitting black pantsuits. But just because you work in a formal setting doesn’t mean your outfits should lose all their personality.
You just have to be more creative within stricter guidelines! When deciding what to wear in a corporate office, it’s all about adding dashes of color and accessories, so your look is fun without being distracting. Sidenote: Make sure to take cues from your higher-ups about what is appropriate for your particular workplace.
This week’s Cubicle Chic offers three outfit solutions for your corporate office.
Dress / Scarf / Earrings / Bag / Heels
One way to shake things up is opting for a navy blue dress {like this Mango shift dress for less than $50} instead of a basic black dress. It adds some color and lightens your appearance. To inject some personality, try a fun yet sophisticated scarf and mix in neutral accessories such as these rose gold earrings, leather handbag and perforated pumps. The navy and tan combo is very elegant and your accessories demonstrate your attention to details.
Blazer / Shirt / Pants / Necklace / Bag / Heels
The silhouette of this blazer is polished, so it doesn’t become too overwhelming despite the bold red hue. For the corporate workplace the blazer is enough of a punch, so make sure to stick with neutrals for the remainder of your outfit. Add other wardrobe staples like a silky blouse, Topshop trousers and work tote from Lulu’s.
Shirt / Skirt / Heels / Earrings / Bag
This outfit is another example of how details can close the deal. The soft draped shirt against the hard lines in the leather skirt is interesting without being distracting. The same principle applies to the Aldo ankle strap pumps, which have a classic feel but with a twist. And if you just have to have your color, add in small doses like this handbag or stud earrings.
What fashion struggles do you have in your corporate workplace? How do you incorporate trends within stricter guidelines?
