06 Apr Thrifty Threads: The Go-To Color Combo for Effortless Style
Have you ever worn an outfit you thought was so simple, but everyone seemed to love it? Yeah, well that’s what happened when I rocked this black and white ensemble. Maybe it’s the a-line skirt, the hypnotizing pattern of the shirt or the colorful accessories.
Whatever it is, this has become my go-to style that’s classy enough for Sunday service but stylish enough for brunch.
Black and white is always {and I do mean always!} a chic color combo, so I had to wear this Strawberry a-line skirt {seen here in my February Favorites video} with my thrifted Armani top from Housing Works Buy the Bag. And while there’s nothing wrong with staying neutral, I think it’s the perfect canvas to have fun with a few dashes of color.
These Pink & Pepper pumps from Loehmann’s* will forever be a favorite. The neon hue in the front with a bit of texture in the back makes it a constant favorite in my shoe arsenal. And it doesn’t hurt that the round toe and moderate heel means they’re super comfortable. *Though the discount department store closed its doors, you can still shop Loehmann’s online!
My handbag also kept the color and textured theme going thanks to this crossbody from ShoeDazzle. The strap is super long so I simply removed it and carry it by the handle.
When in doubt about what to wear or if you’re limited on time? Stick with neutrals and layer on the colorful accessories and a bit of texture. You can’t go wrong with this combo!
Do you have a go-to color{s} or outfit that’s effortlessly chic?

Posted at 22:41h, 11 AprilLove this outfit! Thanks for the inspiration- I was just trying to figure out what shoes to wear when I had on a white skirt and patterned b&w top. Black shoes seemed too matchy-matchy, and I usually like mixing cognac with black, but it seemed unbalanced in this instance. A pop of color is the perfect solution, off to find some neon!
