cubicle-chic-cold-weather-dressing-what-to-wear-when-its-coldIt happened to me last week. I quickly checked my weather app before getting dressed and saw the high was going to be in the 40's. I was excited to not have to wear my down coat or boots for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. However when I got off work, well after the sun had set, my poor legs, covered only in thin tights, almost gave out while trekking to the subway. It was 28 degrees and I was literally underdressed for the occasion.Don’t be me. Instead follow these simple style solutions. Here's how to dress for a polar vortex.

While we all know that mixing prints is easy to do {just have at least one cohesive color in both patterns}, there's another way to have fun by mixing and matching. Wearing the same print in different hues can amp up any look. That can mean red polka dots with black polka dots or blue stripes with orange stripes. For my latest thrifty threads look, I went with plaid on plaid.

Oh, and the entire look is thrifted from head to toe and less than $20.

cubicle-chic-how-to-wear-all-black-looking-fly-on-a-dime
Officially or unofficially, all black is the uniform for fall and winter. Even color enthusiasts like myself are trading in brightly hued clothes for more subdued palettes. All black outfits have two major benefits: they are universally slimming and are always chic. However, some looks can be a little too, well, basic or even come off as harsh.

In this week’s Cubicle Chic, I'll show you how to easily wear all black in a minimal yet super stylish way.
