What I wore to fashion week, Loehmann's
I had a general idea of what I would wear during Fashion Week. When I know I have a lot of running around to do and when the temps are in the teens, I usually stick with my trusty skinny jeans and a few statement pieces. So I went for a mixture of new threads {studded top and neon and animal print shoes} from Loehmann's and some thrifted add-ons, like my Hudson jeans from the Housing Works Buy the Bag sale and vintage clip-on earrings.
But then the dilemma moved to what to wear over my outfit? A blah coat can totally ruin any look, but I knew exactly what I could rock for a standout style.

Loehmann's, department store, discount department storeFashion Week is officially over in New York City and that means we know what to items will be hot for fall. We've seen a ton of the trends already {leather, fur, velvet, etc.} but the upcoming season has a few hot pieces that will inject serious style in to your wardrobe.

But if you don't want to wait for fall to rock these styles and if you don't have a designer budget, that's not a problem. Loehmann's is known for their discount designer prices {up to 65 percent off retail!} and you can actually shop right now for spring and summer items that incorporate fall's upcoming trends.

Last year, the it color was oxblood. Though the name is absolutely horrible, the color is gorgeous. And it looks like we'll see more oxblood and deep berry hues. It was on every runway from Narciso Rodriguez to Anna Sui to Diane von Furstenburg.
And it's easy to incorporate this look with some picks from Loehmann's.

{LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's polka dot dress, $60}
During my last Today Show appearance, I had a ton of people asking what I wore. The LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's metallic brocade shorts were an absolute hit. Since then I've been on a serious Kohl's kick and had to check out what they have in store for spring.
Naturally I gravitated toward the Lauren Conrad line, which has a youthful, casual chic feel to it. And the spring offerings are no different, with pieces ranging from polka dot print dresses and jeans to flowy frocks. Everything in the line is perfect for a day of brunch and errands or a night out with your girls.

It's T-minus two days until the Prabal Gurung for Target collection hits stores on the Sunday. I've previously posted about my so-so attitude toward designer collaborations {sometimes the pieces look and feel a bit cheap and other times, the prices are way too high}, but this Prabal line doesn't fall in to either of those categories. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you've already witnessed me raving about the new line.
Target's had a ton of designer collaborations from Mulberry to Missoni, but I can honestly say the Prabal Gurung line is my absolute favorite. The quality and standout style is definitely worth way more than the average $40 price tag.

As a blogger and writer, I've had tons of opportunities to see some pretty amazing designs, but this weekend really took the cake. Loehmann's invited a select group of bloggers to tour their New Jersey warehouse {it's normally closed to the public} and get a sneak peek at some of their Italian designs. Oh, did I mention the warehouse is 400,000 square feet. It was aisles and aisles of Valentino, Prada, Moschino and more. I felt like I walked in to my fantasy closet.
And since it's Loehmann's, the prices were slashed up to 65 percent off the original value.
