tech on a dime, tech and fashion, fashion and technology

I'm pretty much addicted to my phone. Like most people, my phone acts as an appendage. Sometimes I hate how connected I am at times. But it feels like a necessary evil when I'm blogging on the go, turning in assignments and of course taking the occasional selfie or Instagramming a yummy meal. But what I really hate is a sky-high phone bill.So I was excited to hear about the debut of Aio Wireless. The brand launched in select cities earlier this year and they offer something a lot of wireless providers lack: hassle free service, sleek products and major affordability. Their plans range from $40-$70, which includes all {yes, all!} taxes and fees, so you always know how much your bill will be.

3 reasons not to buy, 3 reasons to not buy at a thrift storeBuyer's remorse is something that happens to the best of us. And this really happens when it comes to thrifting. Speaking from personal experience, I can admit, it's hard not to get hypnotized by the cheap prices and just throw everything in the bag.

But there are ways to ensure you won't get something home and question why you were foolish enough to buy it. Here are three tips to keep in mind before buying anything.

Remember a few weeks ago when I asked you gals if I should continue my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge? Well, it was clear that it's time for me to resurrect the no-new-clothes-for-a-year challenge.
I did it back in 2010 and 2011 {check out the final results here},and this is the first time I'll do the challenge from January through December.
Just like the previous times, I can only purchase secondhand clothes for a year, but this time around, you can get involved.

holiday outfit, cheap and chic: holiday style pieces under $75
The holiday season is here, but more importantly, holiday party season is here! Whether you need something to wear to your company shin-dig or comfortable {yet chic} attire with the family, it's so necessary to find pieces that have a festive touch. From a Christmas sweater that's perfect for a casual day to a show stopping lace frock, it's easy to turn heads. And of course you don't have to pay a ton.

Yes, you can {and should!} wear white this winter season. It's crisp, clean and has an automatic chic-ness to it. Of course it's all about the material. White linen pants would be a no-no in winter, but a sharp white/cream/off white coat is a definite yes.

Winter is rearing her frigid, ugly head so that means it's time for me to whip out my trusty fur collar Zara coat I scored from Housing Works Buy the Bag. As it turned out, my entire look {minus the gloves and tights} was thrifted and head to toe cost less than $25.
