today show, patrice j. williams, looking fly on a dime
If you guys like my Facebook fan page {closing in on 4,000 fan, thanks!} or follow me on Instagram {@LookingFlyonaDime}, then the title of the post should come as no surprise to you. But...I'll be appearing on a segment for The Today Show. I can't tell you how excited I am. The segment airs live {eek} on Tuesday, October 9 during the 9am hour of the show.
This opportunity actually came about after I appeared on The Nate Berkus Show throughout last season.

Looking Fly on a Dime thrifty threads 365Can you believe it's been a year already?! Exactly one year ago today, I started phase two of my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, a full year where I only buy secondhand clothes and spend $50 or less per month. For the past year, I've shown you my Thrifty Thread outfits as well as a tally of how much I've spent each month.
For the month of September, I spent....zero dollars! Seriously, I didn't spend a penny on clothes or accessories last month. I've been way too busy with work to shop {woe is me!}. Oh, and I'm prepping for The Today Show next week {but more on that in a few days}.
And over the past year, I only spent $460 on clothes. Yup, an entire year's wardrobe for less than 500 bucks.
And with that $460, I've snagged some great pieces...

If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I like bright colors. And I like prints. Well, I guess that's two things. And because of those two facts, I'm a serious C. Wonder fan.The store is the brainchild of Chris Burch {former husband of designer Tory Burch} and the brand first came to NYC last year when the SoHo location opened. And now, C. Wonder has a flagship store in the Time Warner Center.I attended last week's press preview and this new location did not disappoint. Bold, colorful and fun best describe the store.

Looking Fly on a Dime DirectoryI constantly have people ask me what my favorite thrift stores in NYC are. I've done posts on this before {thrift shopping FAQ}, as I have a set of shops I visit on a regular basis. When it comes to New York, I can direct anyone to the appropriate shop based on their needs.

But I also have readers ask about thrift and vintage shops outside of the Big Apple and then I'm usually stumped for answers. I always tell people to check out The Thrift Shopper {enter your zip code for secondhand shops in the U.S} and of course I take to my Facebook page for suggestions, which is exactly what I did when someone hit me up on Twitter asking for great thrift stores in Baltimore.

we tv, patrice j. williamsLast week I told you guys about my We Get Together segments that aired on WE tv during commercial breaks for "Braxton Family Values." Hopefully you had a chance to tune in but if you didn't, you can check out the clip below.

The segments were sponsored by Burlington Coat Factory and were all about the best, affordable fashion for the upcoming season. During one setup, you'll see and hear me discuss how the blazer is a must have item and then it's all about the dress, as an easy piece to throw on and that can transition from day to night.Myself and host Jackie Tranchida were dressed in head to toe Burlington and I was truly impressed with their affordable threads.
