Ah, summer is here. Well, it's not officially here and it's been a little chilly and gloomy in NYC lately, but summer is just a few weeks away. That means it's summer style season aka maxi dress season. Yay, right?! But if you're anything like me, then you might dread shopping for a maxi. My specific dilemma is that I'm short. 5'2" to be exact. But I've found a few ways to embrace my love of the maxi dress without dragging the hem on the ground or tripping over it. And of course I'm sharing them with you! Looking Fly on a Dime: black maxi dress with a red crop top

My birthday is exactly one month away {woo hoo, Cancers!} and I naturally can't stop thinking about what I know now that I wish I knew then. That includes everything from love to finances and even personal style. My 20s were full of style envy. I worked at fashion magazines so I was naturally envious of the celebs on the pages of the mag and even the coworkers I encountered every single day. They just looked so great and I just...well, I wasn't really sure. But looking back, there are a few things I know for sure and that I'd tell my younger self.White Coastal cat eye glasses, gray v-neck shirt and printed black pants

Most of us put some effort into what we wear on a daily basis. I mean, we’re heading out to work, running errands or meeting with friends or loved ones. So you wanna look your best and rep your style, right?Something interesting has started happening to me. Over the past few months, I’ve been focused on what I wear to bed. Yes, bed. I even have a bottom drawer in my dresser that’s solely devoted to loungewear and the first few hangers on my clothing rack are for displaying vintage robes. At first I felt a little silly, but then I realized we all need a feel-good night time routine and for me, that involves wearing what makes me feel great and relaxed. While I love a good dress, there's just something about denim. I practically live in jeans. Denim is just so...timeless. And appropriate for so many different occasions. But a few years ago I realized I was getting bored and that was mainly because I only wore skinny jeans. Um, I had to switch that up! Fast.Because jeans are so versatile {skinny, high waisted, mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, cut offs, distressed, etc.}, it's only a matter of finding the fits that work for you and then having fun styling them.5 Ways to Wear Jeans: cut off high waist jeans with a silk top and mom jeans with a crop top

Earlier this month, Target, my beloved bullseye boutique debuted a new collection and it's kind of a big deal. I mean, who doesn't love Target?! But this line in particular was a really exciting venture because per usual, it's affordable, but more importantly, every garment in the collection goes up to a size 26 {versus just some items being plus}. Also, there's a heavy focus on denim, which is an item most women find difficult to shop for {check out Fitting Room Tips to Find the Best Jeans...after you're done reading this!}.
Of course it was my civic fashion duty to check out the Universal Thread line in person, try on pieces and report back the absolute pros and a few cons. Here's another What's In Store.
