I'm a little more than half way through my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge and people always ask if I miss shopping for brand new clothes. And I usually say no. Thrift stores have provided me with every item, whether it's trendy or classic, that I need. But there are some things I've been missing: Forever 21 jeans. I can walk past Macy's, H&M or any boutique with no problem, but Forever 21 tempts me every time. Let me explain...

As much as I love a flirty dress, I adore skinny jeans, especially black ones. They're a simple canvas you can dress up or down in minutes. And since I love jeans so much, I've worn them in a ton of brands, from Seven to Citizens of Humanity to Joe's and more. But I find they all share the same characteristic: the dreaded crotch rip. You know what I'm talking about. It's when your jeans start to rip and get frayed from the friction of your thighs.

In addition to blogging here for Looking Fly on a Dime, I'm a contributing writer for the fashion site, StyleBlazer. Of course I had to share a piece I wrote for them on Black Friday. Black Friday is almost here. You’ve been gearing up for this all year and reading up on the stores you want to attack {check out BlackFriday.com for the major retailers' sales}. That’s great but now you need a survival guide for the big day. Having a game plan can mean the difference between snagging a must have item and walking away empty-handed.Here are some last-minute tips to make your Black Friday shopping a success.Shop Solo: Lets admit it, sometimes us ladies like to shop in groups. Well, not today. Split off from your chicas so you can divide and conquer. When you go to one store and she goes to another, it’s like you’re in two places at once. If you strike out at your store maybe she’ll find something at hers. And vice versa. Just communicate with each other ahead of time and while you’re shopping so you can tell the other what you’re in the market for.

Goodwill fashion show, looking fly on a dime

{I'm making a weird face, but everyone else looks amazing!}

Earlier this month, Goodwill contacted me about participating in a fashion show for disabled workers. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. You guys know I love Goodwill {my favorite locations in NYC are the 23rd St. Gramercy store and the Goodwill Outlet}. But I also love that the secondhand chain employs individuals with disabilities. October is National Disability Awareness month so Goodwill teamed up with NYC's Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities to put on a show.Goodwill wanted myself and four other bloggers to create looks for disabled employees. We pulled clothes from local Goodwill stores so the workers could have career appropriate attire. I shopped at the three-story Goodwill in East Harlem {2231 Third Ave.} to dress my two models, Craig and Yesenia.

One of Craig's favorite colors is blue so I wanted to put him in a bright top, dressy slacks and a patterned tie. And Yesenia preferred black pants, which are totally work appropriate, but I  gave her a stand out top, some accessories and nude pointy toe pumps.

Last year a reader introduced me to the 15 Dollar Store. Yup, that's the name of the store and yes, all apparel and accessories are just $15. Though I love a great deal, I value quality more than anything. So when the people at15 Dollar Store presented me with the opportunity to review one of their items, I jumped at the chance.Since I'm obsessed with chunky, men's inspired watches, I decided to review the Geneva crystal and mother of pearl link watch in rose gold. It kind of reminds me of Michael Kors watches, which cost hundreds of dollars, but this one was a fraction of the cost.
