june ambrose shoe line
June Ambrose is the stylist to the stars {Jay-Z, Mary J, Missy, etc} and now she's bringing her sartorial touch to a foot near you. At the end of the week she's releasing a line of shoes with the Home Shopping Network.
June dresses the best in the biz, but she's also known for her own stand out style {be sure to follow her on Instagram if you're not already} and skyscraper height heels and designer labels. But this collection is for the woman who loves functionality and affordability.
Starting at just $59, each shoe is named after an iconic woman and there's something for everyone's taste.

spring trends, affordable spring trends{Joe Fresh boxy top and color denim with ankle zipper, $29 each}

If you're not familiar with Joe Fresh, don't worry, you're not alone. The Canadian retailer opened up shop in NYC in late 2011 and offered colorful, affordable pieces. I like to compare it to a mash up of H&M {in terms of prices and amazing sales} and Express {perfect mix of casual and work appropriate gear}.Now thanks to a collaboration with JCPenney, this is the first time Joe Fresh will be available nationwide. Starting tomorrow, March 15, JCP will be stocking select pieces from Joe Fresh. And instead of the "designer collaborations" that quickly come and go, the partnership with Joe Fresh is expected to be an ongoing thing, available in close to 700 JCPenney stores and online.If you're not in New York or New Jersey where there's access to a Joe Fresh stand alone store, this collaboration is perfect, especially if you're in the market for affordable spring and summer styles.Take a look at some Joe Fresh pieces you'll find at JCPenney.

Marilyn Monroe, summer sundressAnother week, another new collection from one of our favorite retail chains. The latest one comes from Macy's. The retailer is debuting a line inspired by a cinematic icon.

Starting this month, macys.com and 150 Macy's stores will carry the Marilyn Monroe line. Priced at $29-$89, it aims to recreate the "icon's noteworthy personality this spring," according to a press release. It features lightweight summer dresses, cropped tops and shorts perfect for a breezy spring or hot summer day.

looking fly on a dime thrift shoppingWhen it comes to fashion, there are some items every woman needs in her closet. These are the wardrobe staples that flatter all figures and work for every occasion of dressing. Though they're classic pieces and worth investing in, you can actually hit up your local thrift store for them. Actually, your thrift store is most likely overflowing with these items. And they won't set you back more than a few dollars.
It's always impossible to determine what a secondhand store will or won't have in stock, but I can assure you the majority of them have these five wardrobe staples on hand year round.

Loehmann's, department store, discount department storeFashion Week is officially over in New York City and that means we know what to items will be hot for fall. We've seen a ton of the trends already {leather, fur, velvet, etc.} but the upcoming season has a few hot pieces that will inject serious style in to your wardrobe.

But if you don't want to wait for fall to rock these styles and if you don't have a designer budget, that's not a problem. Loehmann's is known for their discount designer prices {up to 65 percent off retail!} and you can actually shop right now for spring and summer items that incorporate fall's upcoming trends.

Last year, the it color was oxblood. Though the name is absolutely horrible, the color is gorgeous. And it looks like we'll see more oxblood and deep berry hues. It was on every runway from Narciso Rodriguez to Anna Sui to Diane von Furstenburg.
And it's easy to incorporate this look with some picks from Loehmann's.
