25 Nov The Perfect Easy Breezy Thanksgiving Look or Weekend Style
This post brought to you by Payless. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Looking Fly On A Dime.
When you think of Payless, you most likely think of shoes, or at least I do. But the brand is so much more than that! Two weeks ago I showed you the affordable, trendy boots they have to offer, but I was pleasantly surprised to find accessories like bags and even funky socks.
See below for the look I created using Payless boots I’ve had for years, some of the brand’s new accessories and even a piece from my grandma’s closet.
On days when I feel I have nothing to wear, I typically go for a Style Equation that consists of skinny jeans, boots and some light layering. And this look is also great for Thanksgiving! This time around I wrapped myself in my grandma’s blanket scarf {last seen here for my Glamour.com shoot}, a vintage belt and bright skinny jeans. It’s always great to have a go-to look when you’re low on time or want a casual chic vibe.
Since the scarf and jeans are so bright, I went pretty neutral on the Payless accessories that topped the look off.
No exaggeration, I’ve had these tall boots from Payless for years {check out when I blogged about them way back in 2010!} and they’re still a favorite of mine every fall and winter. Though I’m a heels girl, it’s nice to switch things up and these flat boots are fashionable but also functional.
Payless has a ton of options that fit that bill. The Montana Cozy Boot is just as comfortable as it looks, thanks to the lining and faux fur detail. Also, these riding boots are right on trend and what’s really great is they’re available in wide width and an extended calf. Even if you don’t have a wide calf, the extended calf feature is great because it allows for some wiggle room when you want to rock chunky socks with the boots!
Speaking of socks, I rocked my flat boots with cozy over the knee socks. Besides being warm, they also add a bit of depth and texture to the overall look. I usually walk right past the sock display at Payless but I’m glad I didn’t this time around. There were tons of options that ranged from over the knee to tights to ruffly ankle socks.
And another bit of texture came from this woven satchel {less than $25!}. Though I typically carry a bigger bag, it was nice to switch things up with a purse that’s big enough for my essentials but cumbersome free for a day of errands or brunch.
And what’s even better was that my socks and purse were both 30 percent off because there was a sale going on. Savings on savings!
Stay tuned for my final Payless post when I show to die for holiday heels. And in the meantime, be sure to follow Payless on Pinterest for style inspiration.
When’s the last time you shopped at Payless for accessories? Do you have any boots like mine that have lasted for years?

Posted at 07:14h, 07 DecemberLove your site! I wear boots a lot during the fall and winter. Shopping at my local vintage resale shop has been helpful for scoring real leather boots that will last me for years and that I can afford. I find wearing man-made leather wears away too quickly.

I totally agree. A great pair of vintage leather boots can last for seasons. I have a pair from the Salvation Army that was $10 and they’re in amazing condition.
It can be so hard to find faux leather that holds up, but I lucked out with these Payless finds!

Posted at 18:57h, 10 DecemberI bought some boots at Old Navy several years ago on clearance–less than $20–that I still wear. I think the quality of faux products varies widely. Sometimes, you get lucky!
