17 Jan Budget Beauty: DIY Facial Scrub
Facial scrubs can be ridiculously expensive. They’re great for sloughing away dead skin and brightening up dull winter skin, but the price tag can be hard to swallow. Luckily, you can make your own at-home facial scrub with simple, affordable and natural ingredients that are wallet friendly and beneficial for your skin.
There are tons of ingredients you can mix, but my favorite three are:
–Lemon juice: it helps lighten dark spots and is a natural disinfectant
–Honey: softens skin and has antibacterial properties
–Brown sugar: the granules are an exfoliant and don’t dissolve when mixed with other ingredients
The great thing about making your own scrub is you can control the mixture. If you’re skin’s sensitive, you want to go easy on the acidic lemon or sugar granules which can irritate your skin.
{squeeze in lemon juice until you reach your desired consistency}
You don’t want the mixture too thick or too runny.
{store some in an airtight container for future use}
Apply the scrub in a soft, circular motion. Let sit for 5-10 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Posted at 00:36h, 10 OctoberI am an esthetician and would love to try this and maybe start using it when I do facials! Is there a specific ratio of honey to sugar that you use? Thanks!
