16 Nov Beauty Review: L’Oréal Telescopic Explosion
You guys already know I’m a sucker for thick, lengthy lashes so I had to try another drugstore based mascara that claims to do both. I was initially on the hunt for L’Oréal’s Volume Million Lashes but I couldn’t find it, so I settled for the Telescopic Explosion Mascara.
The oddly shaped brush {it’s round with prickly looking ends} stood out from the dozens of other mascaras {seriously, there were almost 20 other options). The Flexi-Globe brush promises to grab lashes “from every angle for a spectacularly fanned-out look.” And the super rich Carbon Black pigment claims to give twice the intensity.
When I initially placed the wand at the base of my lashes, I let out an audible “ewww.” The mascara was thick and gooey and clumped in the middle of my lashes. After a few swipes, it wasn’t as thick. The teeny brush, which is flexible at the tip, made it easy to reach my inner and outer lashes
Despite the clumping, it did give the “fanned-out” appearance from certain angles.
Pros: The dark color is great for an intense look and the fine brush really does help you reach the inner, outer and fine lower lashes.
Cons: In spite of the promise of clump free lashes, it tends to clump!
Though I loved the easy to use brush, I prefer Maybelline Falsies, which lengthens and gives volume without any clumping. I would use L’Oréal’s Telescopic Explosion again but only if I have a plain mascara wand to try to remove some of the clumps.
