Cubicle Chic: Trendy Solutions for a Creative Office

I might be biased, but I think creatives just have more fun! While traditional corporate America is used to the idea of wearing a suit to work, many creative offices {design, fashion, public relations} reject that entire notion. This not only leaves room for, but also quite often creates an expectation of, trendy outfits. Now, while it may be tempting to go all out at your laid-back office, always remember it’s still a place of business! In this week's Cubicle Chic, check out three looks that work well at a creative office. It's easier than you think to combine trendy, affordable style with a few classic pieces.

Looking Fly on a Dime: how to cut an oversized shirt
Let me start off by saying I'm so not the DIY person. Though I love the idea of do-it-yourself projects, sometimes the process has too many steps and is so intimidating, I give up before I even start. So that's why when I actually do anything DIY related, it's insanely easy.
I always find cheap t-shirts while thrift shopping and sometimes they have really fun designs or cute sayings. Unfortunately, they tend to be oversized. That's why I love the idea of DIY projects for shirts that are your style but not necessarily perfect for your shape.

Thrifty Threads 365 is a fashion challenge where I will only thrift shop for an entire year. I’ll show you how it’s easy and wallet friendly to satisfy your style needs with secondhand finds. For full details, check the original post here.
Thrifty Threads 365, style challenge
Every woman has that skirt, shirt or purse she can't live without. For me, right now, my favorite flirty skirt is an LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's tulle maxi {no longer available} and I'm kinda sorta finally getting into the crop top trend, so I'm wearing my vintage top from Clothes Contact in San Francisco.
The last time I rocked the tulle skirt was this past winter with a silky top and fur vest {seen here} and I just wore the crop top a few weeks ago with a maxi dress {seen here}.
Though I love the tulle skirt and crop top, I've never worn them together. I finally changed that!
