Mirrored Jewelry Cabinet Accessories are every girl's BFF. They're the easiest way to dress up an outfit but it can also be tricky when it comes to storing them, especially if you have loads of baubles. Necklaces can get tangled, earrings can get misplaced and your collection can start looking a bit cluttered and messy. Tons of jewelry storage solutions are on the market but some can be kinda expensive. I have my eye on the Gold & Silver Safekeeper Mirrored Jewelry Cabinet by QVC but it's almost $200. Yikes!

Instead, I've found a cheap, fun way that lets me display my jewels.

Thrifty Threads 365 challenge A few weeks ago I went to a bday party for my girl Christina of LoveBrownSugar and I wanted a look that was fun, cute and a bit flirty. So naturally I pulled together a head to toe thrifted outfit. I love bright colors and sequins so why not rock them together?

Normally I would go either/or {the red pants or a sequin jacket} but since it was a party, I went allll out. After getting dressed I realized my head to toe look was less than $20.

So Excessive rings

A few weeks ago the folks over at So Excessive contacted me about hosting a giveaway. I had never heard of the company so I checked out the website and was immediately obsessed with the accessories, especially the bangles {$32 each}. I'm a huge fan of statement making jewelry without a hefty price tag attached. These pieces definitely get the Looking Fly on a Dime stamp of approval.

Thrift Shopping Tips, looking fly on a dime

Last week I showed you guys my thrifted finds for the month of January and I mentioned that I had to barter in order to snag two pieces. Well, learning the art of bartering is a great thrift shopping tip. While shopping at the Salvation Army, I found a feathered vintage robe that immediately caught my eye. It was only $13 and had such a glam feel to it. I loved it but wasn't really sure if I'd actually wear it, but I threw it in my cart anyway.

Not long after, I encountered Jasmin from Vintage Vandalizm. She was gushing over the robe, which is just her style, and I noticed she had some pieces in her cart that looked like they could use a good home in my closet. So, it only made sense for us to make a friendly exchange.

It's the monthly review of my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, a full year where I only purchase a maximum of $50 in thrifted clothes and accessories.  I'm four months in to the challenge and this month, I went a little overboard.I spent $73! Yeah, I went way over. But last month I only spent $10 so I like to rationalize that this was kinda like I spent in January what I didn't spend last month. Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.Though I went over my allotted amount, I scored a ton of great pieces I really love.
