looking fly on a dime holiday gift guide
As I went shopping this weekend, I noticed a common theme: stores are already playing holiday music! It really made me snap back to reality and get a move on with my shopping. I never, ever know what to buy anyone for the holiday.
And that's where InStyle.com's Pop-Up Holiday Boutique really comes in handy. With fashion and beauty goods on hand, you'll have no problem finding something for everyone in your life. Though I love giving stylish gifts, determining sizing is always tricky. But with items like scarves, gloves, tech accessories and purses, they're one size fits all.

On Wednesday I did what I haven't done in about a month: I went to the Salvation Army for some serious shopping. The last time I went, the inventory was weak and I left empty handed, but this time around, the thrift gods must have been shining down on me. The Salvation Army at 46th Street is usually my go-to destination for dresses and an occasional vintage gem, especially sequin tops and button downs. And that's exactly what I found on Wednesday.* I kept pulling one amazing piece after another. *Remember, the Salvation Army has Family Day sales on Wednesday, so most clothes and accessories are 50 percent off.*My total damage was $85. Yes, $85!! But this was ok for a few reasons. 1. I haven't been thrifting in months {shocking, right?}. 2. The items were literally worth hundreds. One dress alone would have originally retailed for $300.

Remember my beloved Catherine Malandrino for Kohl's pleated dress from earlier this fall? Well, I loved it two months ago and I'm still loving it now. Just because the weather has dipped {it's less than 40 degrees in NYC!!!}, that doesn't mean I put the frock away. The great thing about it is the knit material, which makes it perfect for the frigid temps.
When I previously wore the dress, I went with a bare leg and floral pumps, this time around I threw on a pair of thick tights {just a few dollars from H&M} and some thrift store finds for a cozy and chic style.

As you can see from above, I've been feeling sweatshirts over the past year. From Mickey to my basic gray sweatshirt {less than $1 at Salv Army}, I love a good sweatshirt. And if you've been paying attention to what's trendy, you know sweatshirts are having a serious moment. Suddenly, they're chic and in vogue. They're no longer just the sloppy shirt you wear to the gym or on a lazy Saturday.
If you're looking to get in on the trend, here's how you can score a sweatshirt from your local secondhand shop and ways to style them, including a few DIY options.

Icing is known for its affordable jewelry and accessories. And Monopoly is the game we all played as a kid {next to Uno, Monopoly was my fave!}. Well, now the two have come together and created a fun collection just in time for the holiday season.
Icing's Monopoly collection just debuted and as expected, it's cute, affordable and perfect for someone who loves a little sparkle.
