31 Mar The $10 Vintage Store You Need to Know {& They Serve Drinks!}

It’s rare that I find a thrift shop that blows me away, but last week, I was blown away! If you watch my shopping shenanigans on Snapchat {be sure to follow! PatriceJWill}, then you saw I made my first visit to the Mobile Vintage Shop in Brooklyn. I’d heard about the store for a year and I finally, finally made a trip to the flagship location {they also have two mobile trucks nearby!} and I wanted to stay there forever.

That’s not a typo. Everything in the store at 28 Scott Ave., and in their mobile trucks nearby, is $10. This is a curated collection of vintage clothing, accessories, decor, books and vinyl.

The location has a grungy, yet chic vibe. When you first enter you walk down a set of steps into what feels like a cellar, but there are neatly organized clothes on wooden hangers, a large ottoman you can rest on and cozy area rugs throughout. Decor definitely matters when you enter any store, especially thrift shops which can have a bad rap as being unorganized and even having a weird smell. There was none of that here!

As I mentioned, the clothes were on wooden hangers and the racks weren’t overly stuffed, which made it easy to find what you were looking for. And if you were looking for denim or a dress or darker hued items, they were all grouped together.

The accessories were also neatly displayed. Though it’s rare that I thrift accessories, I knew these earrings were coming home with me. I also found a cute open front dress/smock. It sounds a little weird, but I’ll do a YouTube video with my latest thrift store finds.

Though I loved the shop, I do wish that some pieces were discounted. The books, and I believe the vinyl, were $5, but I feel like some of the accessories should’ve also been that price. I like the concept of all the clothes being the same price, but should a belt or bangle cost as much as a dress? Hmm, I don’t really think so.

One interesting thing about Mobile Vintage is that they offer drinks. Yup, you can have a shot or two of whiskey or sangria, which they have near the counter. This was such a nice touch and I definitely had a shot. The place has a cozy vibe. It’s easy to just hang out, play dress up, have a drink and then shop a bit more. Also, the customer service was impeccable. When we walked in, we were greeted and told that everything in the store was 10 bucks. The same happened for every person who entered. The sales associate, Kelsey, was super friendly and we told her we’d definitely be back.
