08 Apr 5 Ways to Add Spring to Your Life
I don’t know about you, but it feels like this is the never-ending winter! It was nice at first. I got a great Michael Kors coat at half off and a pair of Diesel boots at 65 percent off. I was set. But thirteen {yes 13!} snowstorms later, I am ready for sundresses and wedges. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other plans. It’s still fairly chilly in the mid-Atlantic and my Michael Kors coat hasn’t gotten any rest.
However, regardless of the forecast, you can still have bright, cheery elements. Using fashion, home decor and even technology, here’s how to add a bit of spring to your life.
Did you know you can grab 12 mason jars for $10 at Target?! Add some paint or glitter and you have an easy, cute way to store your makeup brushes, pens or even some new spring flowers. Or you could even serve festive spring drinks out of them!
Mini Skirt / Midi Skirt / Maxi Skirt
Nothing says spring like a twirly, pleated skirt! Even if I have to wear it with my thick tights because it’s just so cold! Grab the maxi one for now and the midi and mini for those warmer days.
Ok, fess up. When’s the last you changed the wallpaper on your phone, tablet or computer? It might be time to shake things up with a fresh new home screen. Upload your favorite quote or find a great art print online. My backgrounds you ask? Kate Spade uploads a new wallpaper to their blog nearly every month. It’s such a simple way to make a chance to a tech item you use everyday.
Sports Bra / Capris / Sneakers
As we transition from oversized sweaters to crop tops {and renewing our New Year’s resolutions}, hitting the gym is high on the priority list. And just because you’re working out doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. Check out the active wear sections at Walmart, Target and off-price retailers like Marshall’s for cute and affordable active wear options. This gear might add a little pep to your workout.
Bow Headband / Flower Headband / Gold Leaf Headband
Ever since the lovely and talented Lupita Nyong’o stunned on the red carpet with her Nairobi blue dress and simple gold headband, feminine headbands have become very popular. You can change up your entire outfit and channel your inner ‘It’ girl all season long. The ones above start at less than $3!
With the new season slowly creeping in, what will you be doing to add some spring to your life? Do you switch up your home decor when the season changes? Are you rocking more color as the temps get warmer?
