20 Oct 5 Pop Culture Halloween Costumes You Can Find at the Thrift Store
Halloween is almost here and if you haven’t decided on a costume just yet, no worries.
Pre-packaged, store bought costumes are cool, but for something a bit more unique and super affordable, check out these pop culture Halloween costumes you can find at the thrift shop.
Stranger Things
I binged watched this Netflix show in a single sitting and I couldn’t get enough! The kids were adorable and I’m still shaking my head at Barb {where is she!?}. If you loved Stranger Things as much as me, it’s easy to create a costume based on a few of the characters.
Eleven: blue windbreaker + pink/blush dress with a Peter Pan collar + knee high white socks + sneakers. And add a box of Eggo waffles to really take the look to the next level.
Barb: ruffle plaid button up shirt + mom jeans {I thrifted a pair last year!} + oversized glasses
Joanne the Scammer
There’s no one who’s provided me with more literal laughs out loud than Internet sensation Joanne the Scammer. She’s messy, lives for drama and as her name suggests, loves to scam. And making a Joanne the scammer Halloween costume is super easy.
Joanne the Scammer: fur coat + black dress + ratty blonde wig with black roots.
Maybe throw in fake credit cards or cash overflowing from a purse

Arthur meme
I don’t know why/how this came to be a thing, but you couldn’t turn anywhere this late summer/fall without seeing the Arthur fist meme. And this one’s also an easy DIY Halloween costume. You can pick these items up at the thrift shop or you may even have them in your closet already.
Arthur Fist Meme: yellow sweater {preferably with an elastic cuff} + blue pants/jeans + round glasses
Jane Lane
Last year I suggested a DIY Halloween costume of Daria, but her equally awesome sidekick deserves some love as well and again, this one’s easy to throw together.
Jane Lane: red blazer {cuff the sleeves} + black top and shorts + black combat boots
Brownie points if you rock a blunt, jet black bob wig.
My costume last year was totally thrifted {see it above and here}, so head to your local thrift shop to whip these Halloween costumes up and have a fun night.
What’s your Halloween costume this year? Have you ever went to the thrift shop for a costume?
