Accessories That Instantly Upgrade Your Winter Style

Accessories quickly jazz up any outfit, but they can also make your gear look super expensive. And did I mention it’s the most affordable way to look luxe?! Well, it is.

Even if you’re rocking the same coat from last season, a few select cold weather accessories can instantly {and affordably!} make your outfit look stylish and expensive. Read on to see the finishing pieces that make a major difference.

Faux Fur Collar
Fur {real or faux} isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and that’s totally fine, but if you love a glam look, then a faux fur scarf is an instant way to add a luxe feel to your everyday coat. I thrifted the one below, but you can also find affordable options at H&M, Zara and Topshop. And again, if fur isn’t your thing, just opt for a colorful scarf. It serves as the perfect punctuation piece.

Statement Purse
Handbag. Purse. Whatever you call it. You need one, a good one! And one that holds your essentials for the day {I love a bag big enough to fit a pair of shoes!} and that has luxe details. The details are what will elevate your look. It might be gold hardware, buttery suede or leather. Whatever you choose, rock a bag that has some major appeal and structure {versus a slouchy bag}. I’ve always found nice options at TJ Maxx. You never know what designer bags you’ll find there and of course, you won’t have to pay full price. And you know you can shop TJ Maxx online now, right?! Yup, you can!

Fancy Footwear
And we can’t forget about the shoes. Footwear can be tricky when you’re dealing with snow, sleet or rain, but a flat boot is the perfect combo of fashion and function. And to really step up the style factor, find a boot that’s a fun color or a neutral with an interesting pattern. Vintage boots are usually full of character and you can find them at your local thrift shop. If you do choose to buy a pair, just factor in the cost that may come with having to resole them, which is what I’ll have to do soon with the zig zag boots that I scored for $10 from the Salvation Army.

Accessories That Instantly Upgrade Your Winter Style

Regardless of the season, accessories can really up your style game. But especially with the winter months when all eyes are on your outerwear, have some fun with boots, scarves and bags. Your wardrobe will thank you!

How do you make your winter wardrobe come to life? What accessory can’t you live without?

I love all of these suggestions, especially the fur collar. It looks so pretty with your dangly earrings.
