Thrifty Threads: Cool Summer Day Dressing

Summer isn’t all about cut offs and tank tops, especially on days when the temps are barely 70 degrees. That’s why I always keep a few layering pieces handy to keep the chill away.

Also, in this week’s Thrifty Threads I’m using an easy styling trick to look taller in an instant!

When I want my 5’2″ frame to look a bit leaner and don’t want to wear heels, monochromatic is the way to go {though I chose to wear my ShoeDazzle sandals for an extra bump in height}. Rocking a single color creates a long lean line {great for maxi dresses}.

This look includes a thrifted cobalt blue t-shirt and leopard print duster. And matching jeans I scored from TJ Maxx that have been a favorite for close to four years.

And the accessories were pretty simple. Just some oversized sunnies from a SoHo vendor and my $5 thrifted Zara necklace.

What do you wear on chilly summer days? Do you use any styling tricks to look taller?
