Thrifty Threads – Nate Berkus Show

{with Nate and fashion expert Dannielle Kyrillos}

By now I’m hoping you guys saw my appearance on last week’s Nate Berkus Show. I gave you the behind the scenes look two weeks ago and I can’t tell you how awesome but kinda weird it was seeing myself on television. I was nervous watching the show but pretty calm while I filmed. Strange, huh?

On the show, I matched high end designer looks with finds from my favorite thrift stores in NYC {Salvation Army on 46th St and Goodwill and Housing Works on East 23rd St }. And then I dressed three women in head to toe thrifted outfits. The ladies wore items from labels like Ungaro, Tahari and Diane von Furstenberg, with their looks coming in at less than $20 each.

One thing I didn’t get to discuss was my outfit. A lot of you commented on the ruffled dress I wore so here are the details.

The dress and heels may look a bit familiar because I wore them months ago to see a taping of the Oprah Winfrey show. But this time I didn’t wear a cardigan over it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to wear the dress again, but when I tried it on backstage at the Nate show, I knew I had to rock her for the world to see.

I absolutely love the ruffles on this $7 dress from Salvation Army. I normally like bright colors but who needs a bold hue when you have gorgeous, feminine ruffles?

The shoes were just $5 from Goodwill, the oversized ring was $1 from my LA thrifting trip and the necklaces were $1 each from Housing Works.

I absolutely loved my $15 outfit! Like I always say, your style is never determined by your budget.

Oh, and even my nail polish was budget friendly. I wore Milani’s “fresh teal” polish.

If you missed the show, you can watch the Thrifty Finds under $20 segment here.  The first segment with the high vs. low end looks isn’t online yet.
