If you need to know one thing about me {besides my love of thrifting}, it’s that I hate the heat. Like, I seriously hate it unless there’s a nearby body of water for me to cool off in. And unfortunately for me, it’s been pretty hot in NYC and pretty much throughout the country. One morning the Weather Channel described the temps as “dangerous and oppressive.” Geez!
On days when you’re practically sweating before you even step foot out of the door, what to wear can be a serious dilemma. I knew I’d be out all day last weekend at the Brooklyn Flea market and then I was heading straight to my homie Danielle’s {i.e. The Style & Beauty Doctor} Tweet Your Face Off party, so I wanted a look that was comfortable but still cute of course.
Cue my “hippy skirt” from Udelco vintage warehouse. It has a funky, 70s, gypsy feel to it and the free flowing fabric lets the skin breathe.
With such a bold skirt, I kept my accessories pretty minimal: necklace, bangles, sunglasses, studded sandals and a 10 pound oversized bag that I felt the need to carry unnecessary items in.
