Thrifty Threads: Dress Up

The weather in NYC has been so schizo lately. Though we experienced summer like temps in spring, off and on rainy days and nights were pretty common this week.

So what’s a girl to do on a lazy Saturday when the weather won’t cooperate? She plays dress up of course. And that’s exactly what I did.

You guys know how I learned to walk in heels? I would play dress up with my grandma’s heels. I’d flop around the house in her size 9’s. I couldn’t wait to grow up so I could wear pretty, “pointy” shoes like her.

Fast forward 25 years and I have a serious love for tulle. It’s ultra girly and super feminine. When I spied this blush skirt at the Goodwill in Greenwich Village I knew I had to have it. This is the perfect piece to slip on when you want to have a little fun.

You can’t play dress up {in a tulle skirt} without taking a little twirl.

No dress up session is complete without a few fun accessories.

Breakdown:
Skirt and belt: thrifted
Tank: Strawberry
Bangles: flea market finds
Earrings: borrowed
Shoes: DSW

Week 42 of my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge (a full year where I only buy second-hand clothing) is down. Only 10 more weeks to go!
