Thrifty Threads – Adventures in L.A.

Yesterday I gave you guys a sneak peek at the ruffled dress I wore to a taping of Oprah’s post Oscars show in Los Angeles. Well, here’s how I rocked a head to toe thrifted outfit.

It was unusually chilly in LA for the few days I was there so I layered a cardigan over the dress to keep the chill away while we were in the Kodak Theatre and I threw on an asymmetrical leather jacket as we were waiting outside {in the cold} for about an hour before heading to the theatre.

{i kept my accessories to a minimum and just dressed up the cardigan with the Miu Miu brooch I found during Thrift Wars with Sammy Davis Vintage}

{ruffles make me happy}

{love the pattern and gold heel}

No, Oprah didn’t give us a car or anything, but just being at her final post Oscars show was beyond awesome. I had such a great time in LA, I’m considering relocating…but time shall tell.

Breakdown:
Jacket: thrifted for $10 from the Salvation Army coat sale
Cardigan: Gap, thrifted for $1
Dress: thrifted for $7
Brooch: Miu Miu, thrifted for $6
Shoes: thrifted for $5

Week 26 of my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge (a full year where I only buy second-hand clothing) is down. Only 26 more weeks to go!

{Kodak Theatre, patiently awaiting Lady O’s arrival}

    So frickin’ cute, I love it! I can’t believe you got a Miu Miu brooch for $6…or that you were in the same room as Oprah 🙂

    AGAIN with that beautiful dress! Love the way you layered it, and the jacket is fierce. I think I’d post photos of myself every day if I looked like you!
