Thrifty Threads 365: October Recap

Thrifty Threads 365 is a fashion challenge where I will only thrift shop for an entire year. I’ll show you how it’s easy and wallet friendly to satisfy your style needs with secondhand finds. For full details, check the original post here.

Can you believe it’s already November? That means two things:
1. Time for chunky knits and fly outerwear.
2. My Thrifty Threads 365 challenge is 10 months down with two more months to go.

For all of 2014, I’ve solely relied on clothes and accessories from the thrift shop. I haven’t spent a single penny on new threads. Oh, and I have a $50 thrift shopping budget each month.

Check out what I bought this month from the thrift store and the total for how much I’ve spent on clothes so far this year.

I’m all about only buying clothes you absolutely have to have and that elevate your style and closet. In October, I spent just $16.47 during a trip to the Salvation Army. My finds included a vintage gold maxi I wore in a recent outfit of the day post.

I also scored leopard Chinese Laundry booties {I Instagrammed them here!} and a black knit maxi dress that I can’t wait to wear.

As for November, I’m looking forward to buying colorful scarves and a sweater dress or two. Oh, and my thrift shopping total from January until October is $113. Yes, I’ve spent just $113 in clothes and accessories over the last 10 months. Not bad, huh?

What did you buy from the thrift shop this month? Are you more into basic wardrobe essentials or wow-worthy garments?
