Thrifty Threads 365: November Thrift Haul

Thrifty Threads 365 is a fashion challenge where I will only thrift shop for an entire year. I’ll show you how it’s easy and wallet friendly to satisfy your style needs with secondhand finds. For full details, check the original post here.

We have less than 30 days left in 2014 and that means I’ve been going strong with my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge for 11 months now! I can’t believe the year is coming to an end, but I really can’t believe TT365 is almost a wrap.

For November, I hit up a few Salvation Army locations, two to be exact. My scores range from a faux leather skirt with the tags still attached to vintage sweaters and a dainty purse.

Check out a few of the items I thrifted this month and see how much I spent!

Every season “they” {i.e. fashion magazines} say leather is on trend. But when is it not? So-called trends like this are always in abundance at a thrift shop. I bought this pleated faux leather H&M skirt {the original $30 tag was still attached!} and some shorts.

I seriously need to stop buying sweaters, but they’re great to snuggle up in on a cold day or even on a lazy Saturday. I really like longer sweaters with tights and flat boots. Another classic is a blazer, but the one I found has a bold floral print and silky material. And while it’s not exactly romper weather, I couldn’t resist this Zara v-neck.

And lastly, I can’t forget my adorable purse. As far as accessories go, I’m more of a shoes girl versus purses, but this vintage bag was a must buy. I went thrifting with my mom and when I pulled this purse out of the bin, I think she wanted it for herself! And when I was leaving the store, I came across a bodycon dress with an embellished bodice. I won’t be wearing it as a dress, but as a shirt under a blazer or tucked into a skirt. I just love the details!

I was able to buy a total of 12 items {I didn’t photograph everything I bought} for $36. This is actually the most I’ve spent in a single month during Thrifty Threads 365, but it’s still under my $50 monthly budget.

And for all of 2014, my tally for clothes and accessories is just $179! The only shopping I intent to do in December is the Salvation Army coat sale this weekend. Hmm, I wonder if I can keep my yearly total under $200!? Stay tuned!

What did you buy at the thrift shop this month? Have you noticed any must have trends or classics at your secondhand store? If you’re doing the Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, keep tagging your pics with #ThriftyThreads365 online. I’d love to see what you found!
