It’s the monthly review of my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge, a full year where I only purchase a maximum of $50 in thrifted clothes and accessories. I’m four months in to the challenge and this month, I went a little overboard.
I spent $73! Yeah, I went way over. But last month I only spent $10 so I like to rationalize that this was kinda like I spent in January what I didn’t spend last month. Yeah, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Though I went over my allotted amount, I scored a ton of great pieces I really love.
Earlier this month I showed you my Stuart Weitzman pumps and leather booties. Total: $16
I usually don’t shop at the Salvation Army {my favorite location is the one on 46th Street in NYC} unless it’s 50 percent off day but on a recent visit I found some pieces that were well worth “full” price.
Like this sequin jacket, $5…
A long pleated skirt I can wear from now throughout summer, $8
A cute, palm tree print bag, $10.
I actually had to barter with Jasmin from Vintage Vandalizm for the last two items but check back next week for that fun post!
And of course I had to go back to the Salv for some more goodies. On a separate trip I found…
Vintage pleated dress, $7
Winter white sweater dress, $4
A ruffled mini dress with sheer sleeves, $6
And of course no trip would be complete without cute clip on earrings, $2.
Some other items I scored from Goodwill were a pair of denim shorts {$5} and two bustiers {$10 total}.
These pieces were well worth going over my budget, don’t you think? I’m definitely sticking to my budget for February. *fingers crossed*
