Thrift Store Treasure: Vintage Jumpsuit

If there’s one item of clothing I wanted for spring, it was a jumpsuit. I envisioned myself rocking the one piece with a simple high heel sandal and floppy hat while enjoying an al fresco brunch. Yes, I clearly have a vivid imagination that revolves around my wardrobe.

I hit up the recently renovated Goodwill on 23rd St. and just as I was heading out, I noticed a white garment grazing the floor. I wasn’t sure what it was but once I took it off the rack, I realized it was a jumpsuit. Score for me! But then I thought there was no way my 5’2 frame would look good in this. However, I tried it on anyway and fell in love.

The bodice is slightly fitted and nipped at the waist which helps balance out the wide legs. And it has pockets. I love dresses or one pieces with pockets.

It wasn’t until I was at the register that I noticed the label. This bad boy is vintage!

The garment was made in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong. Um, this country no longer exists {edit: clearly Honk Kong still exists but it’s no longer recognized by the former name}. And if you check out Sammy Davis Vintage {11 Ways to Know It’s Vintage By Labels and Tags}, you’ll know that this is one of the ways to identify a vintage piece.

And the price tag was just right!
$15 is actually a bit steep for me when it comes to thrifting, but I couldn’t pass up this amazing number.

I’ll be sure to post pics once I wear it so you guys can see how I styled it, but I’ll probably go with some earrings, strappy sandals and a belt at the waist for a crisp, clean look.

If you’re in the market for an amazing jumpsuit, check out the options below for under $100. It’s a great transition piece that can go from work {with a blazer or cardigan over it} to happy hour.

Great find! Thrifting can be a job within itself, but it’s very rewarding when you spot good finds. Love it.
