I’m an avid thrifter {you know this!} but I rarely come across any vintage finds. There’s definitely a difference between thrift {which can be a secondhand H&M or Forever 21 dress} and vintage {a piece that’s decades old}. *To get more familiar with vintage, be sure to check out the guru Sammy D at Sammy Davis Vintage.
I snagged this Devonshire Lady dress about a year ago from the Housing Works warehouse sale and didn’t even pay attention to the label. I tossed it in my bag without even being sure if I’d even wear it.
What caught my attention about this frock was the uber girly, frilly design. However, I was thisclose to putting it back in the pile because I thought it was a little too girly, I thought I’d look like a walking doily. But, I kept it and I’m so glad I did.
{judging from the tag, i think this is from the 60s or 70s}
The amazing detail and craftsmanship makes it a standout number in my closet. I’ve worn it with simple black pumps for a clean, feminine look as well as with knee high boots for a more mod style.
{i love the scalloped detail at the hem}
You just never know what you’ll find while thrifting!
