looking fly on a dime, style guide

Remember when I Instagrammed this dress last year? It was Free People {a brand I love} and majorly discounted at TJ Maxx. I knew I'd get tons of wear out of the fitted, printed dress. A dress like this can easily be saucy with a high heel or a bit more casual. Now that the temps are dipping again, I'm back to rocking the Free People dress. And this time around, I decided to keep the frock pretty casual thanks to a few add-ons like accessories and a cable knit top.

Celebs clearly have a love for Aldo. First we saw Jessica Szohr in their patent pumps, Rihanna in their oxford booties and now Lea Michele is the latest starlet to rock the affordable shoe line.The Glee star paired a striped mini with Aldo's Dyle wedge. Retailing for $100, the four inch woven heel is perfect for summer. And the two-tone platform adds a colorful punch.The wedge is a perfect spring and summer shoe staple. It gives the added height of a stiletto but with much needed comfort and...

Last weekend I dipped in to Payless to see what the budget chain shoe store had to offer. I've been impressed with their selection as of late, especially the designer collaborations, but it's always nice to see everything up close. How do they feel? What's the material like? Is the heel sturdy? See what I found!

If you're a girl who wants added height without teetering in a stiletto, then you definitely want to check out the massive selection of wedges. American Eagle had options in a range of colors and patterns, from the nautical inspired to gingham.

Ah, Target. I went there to pick up contact lens solution but I had to make a quick dip in to the clothing and accessories sections...and I'm so glad I did. I found a a lot of crave-worthy sale and clearance items.

A ton of the Go International pieces were on clearance. So if you're in the market for a flirty sheer or lace dress, now is the time to hit Target up. You can rock them now with a cardigan and all the way through summer.Directly across from the dresses, was a rack full of floppy hats. Perfect for protecting your face and pretty tresses from the intense sun. And better yet, they were all just $12.99.

This weekend I did something a little different...I went thrifting on a weekend. I typically go during the week, on a day off or on my lunch break, so I can avoid massive crowds. But I was pleasantly surprised that the Salvation Army was practically empty. Well, not empty, there were about a dozen people. I normally visit the Salv {46th St. between 10th and 11th} on Wednesday when most clothing is 50 percent off, but on this Saturday visit, all blue ticket items were half off.I didn't have to deal with a crowd and I walked away with great items. Check out my finds: tons of color and a brand spankin' new pair of BCBG pants {originally $188 for less than 10 bucks!}.I love that the store now has a small rack designated for vintage finds.

{i fell hard for this frock but upon closer inspection it was stained}
