Here's What Really Happens When You Clean Out Your Closet
It’s been a little over six months since I did my major closet purge. And when I say it was major, I mean major. I donated about a fourth of my wardrobe!

Since then, I’ve come to realize a few things about my style and wanted to share what really happens when you clean out your closet.

By now we all know {or at least I hope we do!} that not wearing white after Labor Day is a total fashion myth. You can wear any color you want during any time of the year. It’s really all about the material, not the color.

What typically happens when I do an on-air fashion segment is I return the clothing. Well, during my last Today Show appearance, I loved a dress so much, I went back to the store and bought it.

While I gravitate towards bold prints and structured garments, sometimes it’s the most basic pieces that have a huge impact. That’s what happened with this H&M tank dress that was just $12.95. It goes with everything and has been in heavy rotation in my closet for the past two months.

Though I love a good DIY, if a project has more than 10 steps or requires a ton of tools, I can’t get with it. That’s why I’m all about the quick, easy DIYs anyone of any skill can achieve.

You might remember when I raided my grandmother’s closet for her vintage clothes and jewelry. While I’ve worn some of the pieces, a bit of the jewelry is broken. Fabulous, but broken or just not my style. Instead of tossing them, I decided to remix the broken jewelry.

Check out the easy DIYs below and see how I incorporate the vintage jewelry into wardrobe basics {button down shirt, clutch, strappy sandals} every woman has.
