Thriftspiration is a weekly series that puts a spotlight on readers who share their secondhand shopping tips and fun ways to style thrifted finds.

Looking Fly on a Dime thriftspiration, thrift store style

Name: Andrea Camille Location: Fremont, CA

When and why did you start thrift shopping? Of course the prices for thrifted clothes are a big plus but to me it's more than that. It's a way for me to express my creativity with items that are new and old. I love mixing up my thrift finds with today's fashion.Thrifting has given me my own style and I love that I can express myself differently through my outfits.

What reactions do you get when you tell people your outfit is thrifted? They looked confused and surprised! It amazes a lot of people that something second hand and used (or sometimes not used) can be played around stylishly with today's fashion.

Another month down so you know what that means: time for my monthly Thrifty Threads 365 check in.

For the month of April I only spent $40 out of my $50 budget. Well, I can't say I faired so well for May but let me explain. I visited San Francisco for the first time last month and I hit up about half a dozen thrift stores {check out my San Francisco thrift shopping posts here and here}, so my $50 monthly budget quickly went out the window. Well, let me stop delaying and just reveal it.

Earlier this week I gave you guys a look at what I wore during my San Francisco trip. But you know I couldn't venture to a new city without checking out the thrift shopping scene. Let me tell you, San Fran thrifting is amazing! I thrifted last year in L.A. but the Bay Area is by far {in my opinion} superior and more convenient. I actually had two days of secondhand shopping, but for today, let's focus on the shopping I did in the Mission. Chandra from MoMoMod suggested I check this area out and I'm glad she did.

The Mission is a pretty colorful neighborhood in its design {peep the awesome mural above} and the eccentric personalities. My first stop of the day was Thrift Town {2101 Mission St}. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was going to become BFFs with Thrift Town. It was organized and massive: two floors and pretty spread out.
