looking fly on a dime, patrice j. williams
I'm having a love affair with sweatshirts {see my last Thrifty Threads: Sweatshirt Chic post}. This is pretty strange for me because I normally think of sweatshirts as being frumpy and sloppy. But I've seen the error of my ways.
So when I came across a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt at the press preview for the Housing Works Buy the Bag shop in Brooklyn, I knew I had to have it. And when I looked at the label, I realized it was vintage! Not bad seeing as how it cost about $1 {a bag full of clothing is just 25 bucks and I was able to stuff about 20 pieces in a singel bag}.

swap party
Last week I hosted Swap Your Closet with ClosetDash Shop and it was a major success. Tickets sold out and the afternoon was full of fashion, fun and cocktails. If you couldn't attend, here's the recap.
The crowd varied from a mother and daughter duo to women in their 20s to 50s. But they were all looking to swap unwanted accessories and update their style.
event giveaways
Before the crowd descended upon ClosetDash Shop, we made sure to set the scene and have the giveaways on display.

I previously wrote about ways you can thrift shop online and recently, some new sites have popped up that make thrifting from the comfort of your home as easy as can be.
For new thrifters, they associate secondhand shopping with digging through piles of clothes for endless hours and walking away empty handed. Well, sometimes that's the case, but if you're low on patience and time, thrift shopping online is a great option.
A national chain like Goodwill has an online shop, but there are two fairly new sites I really love, due to their affordability and focus on philanthropy.
