Last week I showed you the head-to-toe thrifted outfit I wore for a taping of the Oprah show but I went for a more casual look for my last day on the west coast. We wanted to soak up as much sun as possible so we spent the day chowing down {In-N-Out, Lala's, Porto's Bakery} thrift shopping and of course we had to head to Santa Monica. I knew we'd be out all day so I went for a look that could easily transform from casual to a bit more dressy with a quick shoe change.

{of course I had a pair of flats in my oversized bag}

I finally got some of my Salvation Army coat sale items back from the cleaners and the first thing I had to wear was my fur vest. I've been obsessed with fur vests since Rachel Zoe started rocking them. However, I wasn't willing to drop the cash on the real deal and I never found a faux option I had to have.But lo and behold, I found a real fur vest at the Salvation Army sale a few weeks ago. It's super soft and has a great silk lining. I easily incorporated the luxe piece in to my typical winter wardrobe {skinny jeans and boots}.

{a vest with pockets? score!}

A few weeks ago I went to the store opening of Spring Shoes at the Manhattan Mall in NYC. I had never heard of Spring, the more affordable sister company of Aldo but I was pleasantly surprised.Spring Shoes has everything you’d expect from Aldo: dressy and casual shoes for men and women and tons of accessories.The shoes varied from strappy stilettos to rocker chic boots and most are priced in the $40-$60 range. The line also has a full range of accessories, including handbags and jewelry.The company was kind enough to give everyone in attendance a $150 gift card, but the party was so full of bloggers and editors, I didn’t get a chance to try on the cute shoes {there weren’t enough employees on deck to accommodate us}. Sigh.However, I made my way back to the store this weekend to take advantage of the gift card (remember,  my Thrifty Threads 365 challenge only lets me indulge in new clothes or accessories if they’re courtesy of a gift). I love my thrift shopping but I rarely find shoes and accessories so I wanted to rack up on these items and spend every penny on the card!Click more to see what I scored (2 pairs of shoes, earrings and 3 necklaces) and what I really thought of Spring Shoes.
