Sip & Swap, clothes swap

For my last Thrifty Threads post, I wore a pair of Aldo tribal print wedges I scored from my Sip & Swap event. It was a great afternoon of exchanging our amazing clothes we no longer wanted. As soon as GangStarr Girl pulled the shoes out of her bag, I knew I had to have them. I was lucky enough to grab them first and they make a serious statement and I didn't even have to pay a penny for them.One question I've been asked is how to host a clothing swap. Though we went all out with our swap {private venue, giveaways, specialty cocktails, etc.}, you can certainly host your own party.Following a few easy tips will guarantee a perfect clothing swap party and a quick way to update your wardrobe.

DSC_0599I can't wait for spring to arrive on Wednesday. Seriously, I'm over the cold NYC weather. Though some people tend to wear more drab colors in the fall and winter, I'm all about wearing my brightest threads any time of the year. And I think I actually wear even bolder tones during colder months just to perk my mood up.This past weekend, I threw on a ton of blue, red, pink and colors in between for a fun look. My vintage Mickey sweatshirt and Laundry by Shelli Segal trench are both from Housing Works Buy the Bag at just $1 each.Check out this week's Thrifty Threads. And I'll even show you how to give your classic trench coat a little update.

{LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's polka dot dress, $60}
During my last Today Show appearance, I had a ton of people asking what I wore. The LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's metallic brocade shorts were an absolute hit. Since then I've been on a serious Kohl's kick and had to check out what they have in store for spring.
Naturally I gravitated toward the Lauren Conrad line, which has a youthful, casual chic feel to it. And the spring offerings are no different, with pieces ranging from polka dot print dresses and jeans to flowy frocks. Everything in the line is perfect for a day of brunch and errands or a night out with your girls.
