If you weren’t in NYC this weekend, well that sucks for you {just kidding!}. But seriously, you missed another awesome Ready, Set, Thrift! event. I hosted my second thrift shopping party at Housing Works Buy the Bag and we had a night of thrift shopping {$25 for a bag of clothing), raffles of designer and vintage goods, drinks, cupcakes and an informative panel discussion.

Remember when I mentioned I’d be bringing back the Thriftspiration feature where I highlight the style of thrift and vintage lovers? Well, it’s here! And it only made sense to start with a bang.

I love Chrisette Michele’s music and the singer is also a pro thrifter. She recently shared a video on her site, Rich Hipster, of her getting into a little vintage shopping while in Florida. She scored a ton of affordable pieces at an indie vintage shop and even shows how she styled them.

Check out the short videos below for Chrisette Michele’s thrift shop adventure and vintage styling advice

Looking Fly on a Dime Style Event

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you read yesterday that I’m taking my Ready, Set, Thrift! and styling events on the road! Unless you’re in NYC, you’ve never had a chance to meet me up close and personal and enjoy one of my thrift shopping parties or clothing swaps. Well, it’s time to change that. One of my major goals for 2014 and 2015 is to seriously ramp up my event hosting and spreading the message that “your style is never determined by your wallet” to as many men, women and kids as possible.

I’m hitting additional cities with my thrift and affordable style events, but I want to hear from you first.
