Well, you might also remember I was thisclose to not buying it because it had a few stains. Luckily I was able to get them out, but I almost didn't know it even had stains!I always stress the importance of inspecting garments closely, but even when you do, depending on the lighting in the store, you may be overlooking a few discolorations. Here's how to use the power of sunlight to spot stains on your thrifted garments.

black-lace-halter-top-black-jumpsuit I've found a few jumpsuits I love but when I say a few, I really mean just a few. My problem is they're too long for my 5'2" frame, the waist is baggy but too fitted on my booty or numerous buttons make it a pain to get in and out of. Well, I finally found the perfect jumpsuit.

Let me back up. I didn't actually buy a jumpsuit, I created one. And you can too with items you already have in your closet.

What's In Store: Joyce Leslie

This weekend I went shopping with my cousin since she wanted to find an outfit for an 80s pool party, so we naturally went to Joyce Leslie. The affordable fashion retailer is a staple on the East Coast. Until this weekend, I hadn't stepped foot in one of the stores in years, but as an undergrad, I shopped at Joyce Leslie at least every other week when I wanted a cute $20 dress. Though quite a few of the clothes were adorable, I also saw some major misses.
Check out what I found at Joyce Leslie, plus quick tips on what to look for and avoid when shopping at a "cheap" clothing store.

Looking Fly on a Dime: Affordable Vintage Warehouse

Do you know what I did last weekend? If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, then yeah, you already know. I hit up the thrift mecca of Udelco warehouse for some serious vintage shopping.I previously posted about Udelco about two years ago, but it was time I paid them a visit again and this time my aunt and cousin joined me. For those who attended my last Ready, Set, Thrift! event, you may have seen my aunt. The thrift shopping party was her first time thrifting and I was happy that she and my cousin joined me for another round of thrift therapy.Based in northern New Jersey, Hawthorne to be exact, Udelco vintage warehouse has affordable, one-of-a-kind clothes. While most vintage wholesalers aren't open to the public, Udelco opens their doors to anyone looking for a treasure hunt. See what I found, plus a few tips if you ever plan to visit a thrift warehouse.
