How to Incorporate Spring Trends in Your Everyday LookWhat should be the appropriate ratio of classic pieces to trends?
That's what I asked Adam Glassman at last week's JCPenney and O, Magazine event. The creative director for O thought this was a great question {I did, too!} and dished on that and much more.
Just in time for spring, check out a few easy fashion tips anyone can incorporate into their everyday look.

affordable activewear, JCPenney activewearThough I enjoy a good workout and love an early morning run, I tend to fall off at times when it comes to consistently working out. But I absolutely jumped at the chance when I was invited to the New Year, New You event by JCPenney. Dancing with the Stars champ Karina Smirnoff would be on hand leading a dance class, so I knew I had to attend.
But besides the opportunity to be whipped in to shape by a DWTS pro, I loved the JCPenney Xersion and CityStreets activewear lines. They're chic {you won't be embarrassed to be seen in these gym clothes!} and super affordable.

About a week ago I dipped in to JCPenney at the Manhattan Mall. I was killing time in between meetings and didn't expect to find too much. But um, I was majorly surprised. I found a few pieces and couldn't resist trying them on. When I Instagrammed the houndstooth dress above, you guys all commented on how amazed you were at this being at JCP. It was affordable and super chic.
Besides having a really amazing sale going on, I had no trouble finding work appropriate wear, casual gear and even some cocktail attire.

If you're not familiar with Joe Fresh, don't worry, you're not alone. The Canadian retailer opened up shop in NYC in late 2011 and offered colorful, affordable pieces. I like to compare it to a mash up of H&M {in terms of prices and amazing sales} and Express {perfect mix of casual and work appropriate gear}.Now thanks to a collaboration with JCPenney, this is the first time Joe Fresh will be available nationwide. Starting tomorrow, March 15, JCP will be stocking select pieces from Joe Fresh. And instead of the "designer collaborations" that quickly come and go, the partnership with Joe Fresh is expected to be an ongoing thing, available in close to 700 JCPenney stores and online. If you're not in New York or New Jersey where there's access to a Joe Fresh stand alone store, this collaboration is perfect, especially if you're in the market for affordable spring and summer styles.Take a look at some Joe Fresh pieces you'll find at JCPenney.
