It’s rare that I’m surprised. And it’s also rare that I shop online for clothing.

Loehmann’s Italian Designer Preview

As a blogger and writer, I’ve had tons of opportunities to see some pretty amazing designs, but this weekend really took the cake. Loehmann’s invited a select group of bloggers to tour their New Jersey warehouse {it’s normally closed to the public} and get a sneak peek at some of their Italian designs. Oh, did I mention the warehouse is 400,000 square feet. It was aisles and aisles of Valentino, Prada, Moschino and more. I felt like I walked in to my fantasy closet.
And since it’s Loehmann’s, the prices were slashed up to 65 percent off the original value.

“Designer” on a Dime – Dolce & Gabbana Miss Holiday Bag

Eva Mendes is a frequent carrier of Dolce & Gabbana’s Miss Holiday tote. It’s stylish and roomy enough to carry essentials and more, but the canvas and leather trimmed bag is almost $3,000 (yikes!). A canvas bag is a great multifunctional piece. It’s chic enough for the office but casual enough for a day of running errands.

If you’re looking for a similar look, Land’s End and Forever 21 have you covered.

Land’s End, $168.  Forever 21, $17.80

The Black Weblog Awards are currently accepting nominations until July 25, and if you feel so inclined to suggest Living Fly on a Dime for Best New Blog and/or Blog to Watch, that would be great. Please and thanks :)
